She was on top of the world in 2014 when her hit single Fancy blew up, with the star also winning awards for her collaboration with Ariana Grande, Problem.However, speaking with Power 106 FM on Friday, Iggy Azalea admitted that things later got so bad that she even considered suicide.
The star was plagued with harsh criticism, coming under attack by celebrities such as Azalea Banks, and shared that she was worried that her career was over on top of that.
'It can make a person feel like, well what do I have left to live for?' she said, discussing the terrifying thought of being sent back to Australia after ten years of living in America, since she is in the United States on a work visa.
Iggy was asked to discuss her lowest point throughout all of the difficult criticism, which led to the star making the shocking revelation.
'There were times when I just wanted to quit life, the whole thing, really,' she admitted, clarifying that she at times felt suicidal, when J Cruz thought she had wanted to give up her career.
But teasing aside, Iggy shared that what really affected her was the implication that her career was over, even from people that she had been working with in the industry.
She explained that since she lives in the United States on a work visa, not having her career would mean that she would have to go home.
'My whole life is here, so that's a lot for somebody to deal with,' Iggy said, adding: 'For somebody to come when I didn't really feel like I did anything to be deserving of that much hate, to be like, okay, well now we're taking everything from you, what you do, your friends, everything could be totally gone, that's a lot.'
